This page explains how this website works legally and how we handle privacy, orders, delivery, returns and age restrictions.
Cookies
The site uses essential Rails session cookies to keep the site working: selected bottles, reservation or allocation access, shipping destination, checkout state and similar temporary choices. These cookies are needed for reservations, allocations and checkout.
When the news banner is active, a small banner-dismissal cookie may be used so the banner stays closed. Stripe may set cookies when Stripe Checkout is opened. We also load Plausible Analytics for aggregate website statistics.
Privacy
When you join the list, we collect your first name, last name, email address and language. This information is stored locally and synced to SendGrid so we can send reservation and collection updates.
When you reserve or order wines, we process the selected wines, quantities, reservation or allocation references, email address and order status. Payments are handled through Stripe Checkout. We store the Stripe customer reference and order email, but we do not store card details.
We use this information to manage reservations, orders, delivery, customer communication and reservation access. To ask about your data or request removal from the list, contact bonjour@salathe.com.
Orders, Payment And Delivery
Wines are sold in limited quantities, usually through reservation or allocation windows. Submitting a reservation is not a guarantee of availability; we confirm availability by email.
Paid orders are processed through Stripe Checkout. Prices are shown in CHF. Delivery costs are shown before checkout and depend on the selected delivery destination.
Returns And Defects
Swiss law does not provide a general right to return online purchases. We therefore do not accept returns of correctly delivered wine simply because the customer changes their mind.
If bottles arrive damaged through shipping, or if a wine appears defective, contact us promptly at bonjour@salathe.com. Please keep the bottle, packaging and any relevant photos so we can review the issue and find an appropriate solution.
Age Restriction
Wine is not sold to minors. By reserving or ordering wine, you confirm that you meet the legal minimum age for buying wine in your delivery country. In Switzerland this is at least 16 for wine. We may refuse or cancel orders where age requirements are not met.
