Savagnin 2025
Some wines come from an idea, others from a particular opportunity. This Savagnin clearly belongs to the second category.
For years, Savagnin has been one of our favourite Valais white varieties. So we were all the more delighted when a fellow winemaker and friend offered us the chance to take grapes from one of his parcels in Chippis, near Sierre (VS). An opportunity we couldn't let pass.
The vines grow under the full Valais sun and benefit from the dry climate of the Rhône valley. Like all our grapes, these too were hand-harvested and handled with the greatest care.
This wine is our homage to a grape variety that, for us like almost no other, embodies the union of alpine freshness, mineral tension and aromatic richness. A piece of Valais in the glass.
Tasting notes
- Linden blossom
- Chamomile
- Mountain flowers
- White peach
- Pear
- Quince
- Honey
- Citrus
Linden blossom, chamomile and mountain flowers shape the bouquet of this Heida. Alongside them come aromas of white peach, pear and quince, accompanied by a touch of honey and fresh citrus notes.
On the palate, it shows all the class of this Valais specialty: precise, fresh and full of tension. Its pronounced minerality and lively acidity give it length, depth and character, while fine notes of hazelnut round off the finish.
A white wine with an alpine character: straight, complex and full of energy.
